The GMP activities included a substantial applied malaria research programme with a particular focus on the optimum deployment of existing malaria control tools.
Research funding was made available through the following streams:
- 39 research proposals
- 33 PhD projects
- 11 re-entry grants
- 34 small grants (> $40,000) awarded through the Director’s Initiative Fund.
A feature of the proposals, and in particular of the research grants programme as a whole, was its multi-disciplinary nature. Outlines of different aspects of the programme are given in the Research Summaries section of this site, but the full extent of the programme will be best appreciated by following the links to the extensive publication lists set out under the same headings or by referring to the GMP Publications 2001- 2010 booklet.
